About the game
Checkmult is chess with a score attack. You play White against a ladder of computer opponents, and every move you make is graded and scored. Good moves earn Base points, and captures, checks, forks and streaks pile on Mult. Reach each opponent's target score before your moves run out to move up the ladder.
Between rounds, spend what you've won at the Market on Charms and Scrolls. A good set of Charms turns a single knight fork into thousands of points, and the late opponents demand it.
How it plays
- Drag a piece, or click it and then the square you want. You always play White.
- Hit the target and choose: Cash Out now, or Play it Out for a checkmate bonus.
- Click a Charm or Scroll at the top to sell it, use it or move it.
- Options in the sidebar has game speed, the font, sound and the CRT effect.
Every move is graded
An engine grades each move you make, from Brilliant to Blunder, and scores it as Base × Mult. Captures, checks, forks, castling and streaks of good moves all add up.
Build a combo
Spend your winnings on Charms that bend the scoring, like knights that add Mult, sacrifices that pay triple, or a die that sometimes quadruples everything. They trigger left to right, so order matters.
Climb the ladder
Eight opponents, from a page who barely knows the moves to the Pale King. Each one past the first two has a quirk that breaks a rule you were counting on.
Cash out or press on
Hit the target and take the money, or keep playing for a checkmate bonus. Get mated, or run out of moves, before the target and the run is over.
Scrolls for tight spots
One-use tricks for when it matters. Take back a move, see the engine's best move, buy more moves, or triple your next score.
Plays anywhere
Runs in any modern browser on a computer or phone. There's nothing to install and no account, and your run saves in the browser between rounds.
